Conditions at a glance

Search for these names in Game Creator's condition picker. You can use them in a Rule's criteria alongside your normal Game Creator conditions.

A particular Rule

Condition Use it to ask
Rule Has Played Has this moment happened?
Rule Has Not Played Is this still a first-time moment?
Rule Played Count Has this moment happened the number of times I want to check?
Rule Played Recently Was it chosen within the configured recent interval?
Rule Not Played Recently Has enough space passed since it was chosen?
Last Selected Rule Is Was this the Director's most recent selection?
Last Selected Rule Is Not Was some other Rule, or no Rule yet, the last selection?

In a Rule's history condition, choose This Rule when it should check its own history. Choose another Rule when the condition refers to a previous story moment.

A category

Condition Use it to ask
Story Category Has Played Has any Rule in this category been selected?
Story Category Has Not Played Has this group of moments never played?
Story Category Played Count How many selections belong to this category?
Story Category Played Recently Was a Rule in this category chosen recently?
Story Category Not Played Recently Has there been a gap since this category last played?
Last Selected Story Category Is Did the last chosen Rule belong to this category?
Last Selected Story Category Is Not Did the last chosen Rule belong elsewhere, or has nothing been selected yet?

This Rule's Category follows the owning Rule's category. It is available on history conditions, not as a special value in the Rule's category field or a Director request.

Category history uses the winning Rule's own category, even when a named request selected a global Rule.

The story as a whole

Condition Use it to ask
Any Rule Has Played Has the Director selected a Rule at least once?
No Rule Has Played Is there no recorded Rule play yet?
Story Director Run Count How many Director requests have happened?
Story Director Has Selected Any Rule Has any request resulted in a selected Rule?

Requests and selections are different counts. A request can happen without a Rule starting.

Recency and references

Recency can use Director runs or seconds. Director-run recency is the default. Seconds use wall-clock time, including time while the game is closed.

An empty or missing Rule reference does not turn into an "any Rule" check. Fix the reference or use the aggregate condition that expresses what you mean.
