Work with ActionFlow 2¶
You can author a whole Story Engine project in the Rule Editor and Inspector. If you prefer seeing instructions as a graph, a compatible ActionFlow 2 installation can show your Rules there too.
Open a Rule in a graph¶
Open the GameObject's graph in ActionFlow 2. Its Story Engine Rules appear as roots, with their instructions connected beneath them.
When the compatible integration is installed, Rule Editor cards also offer Open Graph. This opens the Rule's owning GameObject in ActionFlow 2.
Use the view that helps with the task. The Rule Editor is useful for comparing many story moments. A graph is useful for following the steps inside a response.
What you can edit¶
The Rule root exposes its category, priority and criteria. Rename it with the pencil in the title bar. Its instructions use ActionFlow's connected instruction view.
ActionFlow's node picker can also create a Rule component. During Play Mode, highlighting begins at the Rule chosen by the Director and follows its instruction nodes.
The scene or prefab still owns the Rule. Save the owning scene or prefab after editing it.
Check the integration version¶
Story Engine 1.0.0-rc.2 uses the product-owned StorySystem types and integration API version 5. Use an ActionFlow 2 release that recognizes those types. An older adapter written for the previous namespace needs an update.
If Open Graph is absent, first check that ActionFlow 2 is installed, compatible and has finished compiling. Story Engine itself remains usable without it.
Visit the ActionFlow 2 documentation for its graph workspace, controls and editing guide.
